12 lb Parlee Z1 Bespoke Superbike
This Parlee Z1 was commissioned to have a one-of-a-kind Scottish paint scheme. It is the same bike that currently is living at the top of the blog. It took Dave Sem, our master painter, quite some time to arrive at a satisfactory design. It contains the St. Andrew’s Cross and the “Lion Rampant” which took 11 coats of airbrushed paint!
The geometry is rider specific as the owner needed minimal hand pressure to eliminate numbness. We were happy to oblige and are just as thrilled as the owner with the result. This bike is also a product of our fitting system whereby we fitted the owner on our custom setup bike and then created a drawing. We then ordered the frame and assembled the bike per the drawing and when the bike was hand delivered it needed no adjustments.
A bicycle this nice should fit as well as this one does. In fact we strive for this level of accuracy on every bike we design and build. This particular bicycle just happens to be the nicest one we have created to date. Maybe we can build a bike for you someday!
There is a big Flickr gallery of this bike which you can find by clicking on the picture.
As always, thank you so much for your comments on the bikes we create and our photography.
