Since KGS Bikes is in the ultra high-end bicycle biz, I have a lot of very successful clients. In studying marketing to the affluent, I have found that people who have money tend to go to value, quality, and fewer but better products.

A new article on Forbes.com supported this observation, called the New Rules of Luxury Spending. This explains why we have noticed no lack of demand on the very high end. Compared to cars, yachts and Italian villas, bicycles are cheap. It pays to get a good one as the experience of riding it is heightened.

One final note. People have commented to me that I sell to people who spend money needlessly, as if price is no object. I have found that affluent people are sensitive to a scam or to fakes, and they can spot real quality a mile away. There is a reason they have held onto more money than they spent. It is gratifying to see people that are savvy, world traveling consumers, who think our little boutique in San Antonio is about as good as it gets in bicycle land. Thanks for noticing!

We will continue to become more exclusive, find better products and develop new services and give you more value than ever.

I always appreciate your comments. Thanks so much for looking.
