Many of you know of my fondness for Brooks products. This British company makes things for bicycles and bicycle owners that are either old school cool, retro cool, durable, comfortable or just plain “best in class”. Here is their Facebook page.
I got a chance to see some of their new bags and was really impressed. I had seen the Brixton Satchel, made of a heavy canvas and leather, with cool presto change-o fasteners to allow the bag to hang on to any commuter, but I had not seen the Islington Rucksack, a mid sized backpack with some serious ergonomic engineering. I had not seen the big Hampstead Holdall either. This is a big multipurpose bag that has many different ways to hold things and to be carried.

The Barbican Shoulder bag comes in medium and large sizes, and is also available in hard leather or soft leather. The leather bags were simply stunning, and were obviously made from the same leather as the saddles, but much softer.
The SOHO Shoulder Bag comes in hard leather and is certain to be popular with women who want something a little different and subtle.
There are many other cool things coming from Brooks. Their incredible bar tape, shown here on the KGS / Passoni XXTi show bike, is now available in many colors, including white, violet, turquoise, pink, green, mustard, in addition to the traditional black, brown and honey.
