Have you ever “un-friended” anybody on Facebook? I have, but only twice. Facebook has been a great way for me to network KGS Custom Bicycles and to reach out to people around the world. Right now, however, I am a victim of my own success. I have enough Facebook fans and friends that I cannot interact with people who have fan pages. I can’t “like” their pages without ditching hundreds of Facebook friends and fans myself.
It is time to start a new phase in the way KGS Custom Bicycles uses Facebook, and I thought I would start by telling it like it is.
1) I can’t please everybody. I am not going to try.
2) I can treat my custom bicycle clients with extraordinary excellence, expertise and give them an incredible experience. I want to find those people and really make their day. This amounts to about 40 people a year who buy custom bicycles and then others who want to buy our premium components.
3) I can help educate and empower people who will listen and those who have a thirst for knowledge and excellence in cycling.
4) Most people relate to bicycling in response to the cognitive bias that big bike companies impart with their marketing. This makes them “willfully ignorant”, rather than “actively skeptical” of what KGS can offer. I can’t help these people.
So. I am asking for a favor. If you want me to be an active part of your Facebook life and fill your head with cool stuff I discover as it relates to custom bicycles, let’s rock. If not, please unfriend me. I don’t know which of you to keep or which to let go, but I have to do something as my hands and feet are tied.
If you are leaving, it has been a pleasure. If you are staying, prepare for more cool stuff!
